HOW TO DOWNLOAD & INSTALL ON WINDOWS 3.1 SYSTEMS In the download section of the website you will find downloads for both the classic (bowling only) and current (all sports) versions of the program. Both versions are clearly labeled and have underlined text that says "Click here to download the installation file". Click on this underlined text for the version you want to start the download process. Depending on how your computer is setup one or more dialog boxes may pop up asking you about where you want to store the downloaded file on your computer. If these dialog boxes do appear, click on the "OK" button on each one to proceed with the download process. As the download is proceding you will see a dialog box on your computer informing you of the download progress. When the download is successfully completed Windows should give you a message informing you that the download was successful. Click on the "OK" button on the message to clear it. After the download has been completed you are ready to begin installing The Bowling Assistant on your computer. Start the File Manager program. Select "Search" from the "File" menu in the File Manager program. The "Search" dialog box will appear. In the text box to the right of the words "Search For:" type BOWL16BT.EXE In the text box to the right of the words "Start From:" type C:/ Make sure there is an X in the box to the left of the words "Search All Subdirectories". If the box is empty (no X) click on the empty box to put an X in it. Click on the "OK" button and Windows will search for the file. When the search is completed a new dialog box will appear with the "Search Results". If you downloaded the file successfully and followed the directions for completing the "Search" dialog box, Windows will find the file and it will appear in the "Search Results" dialog box. If Windows did not find the file and if you have other hard drives on your computer you may have to repeat this search on another drive, D:/ for example, to find the file you downloaded. When Windows has located the downloaded file, double click on the file name "bowl16bt.exe" or "bowl16bt" (may be in upper or lower case). A new dialog box titled "WinZip Self Extractor" will pop up. In the center of this dialog box is a text box with the words "Unzip to folder:" above it. If it is not already there type the following in the text box: C:/WINDOWS/TEMP Click on the "Unzip" button to start the unzipping process. When the unzipping process is successfully completed you will get a message on the screen. Click on the "OK" button on the message to clear it. Close the "WinZip Self Extractor" dialog box. Close the "Search Results" window and the "File Manager" program. Select "Run" from the Program Manager "File" menu. The "Run" dialog box will appear. In the text box below the words "Command Line" type in: C:/WINDOWS/TEMP/SETUP.EXE Click on the "OK" button. This will start the installation process for The Bowling Assistant.
